Wicked Dates

Last week, Yung and I went on 2 dates. I don't really know what qualifies as a date when you are engaged. I think going to Cane's on a Friday night is a date, so as you can see, we are pretty low maintenance around here.

Nonetheless, there were two evenings this week where we went out and didn't stay home and read.

Date #1:
We went to Fair Park Music Hall and saw Wicked. Such a great musical with plenty of humor beautiful music. I was excited to see some familiar faces there too :) I was happy to see how many people were out to see the musical that night. All the shows were nearly sold out. With digital entertainment so popular these days, I am glad to know that there are still plenty of people that are interesting in supporting live performances. I can't wait until the 2017/2018 Dallas Summer Musicals lineup is released.

Before the show, we had dinner at Crushcraft Thai. I was just a little excited about the tofu fries.

Date #2:
A revolving sushi restaurant has invaded North Texas. Kula in Plano, Texas. My brother and I used to play Pokémon Stadium on a Nintendo 64 at our grandparents' house in Taiwan. Within that game was a revolving sushi game that we loved. Naturally, it was imperative that we check out revolving sushi in real life. It just opened a couple weeks ago so we waited nearly an hour to be seated on a weeknight. Worth it!

There is a long conveyor belt that runs through the entire restaurant and there are individual plates of sushi sitting neatly in little covered domes. If you see something you like, you can take it from the conveyor belt. Each booth has a touch screen that shows a digital menu and keeps a plate count. When you are done with the plate, you feed it into a plate dispenser and the computer will automatically count that plate. If you want to order something that is not rotating on the conveyor belt, you can order it from the touch screen and it will fly out (literally!) on the upper level conveyor belt and it stops right in front of your table. It's like dining with The Jetsons.

Not only that, if you eat 15 plates, you get a prize that pops out of a separate tunnel that is connected to the touch screen menu. You can bet we ate 15+ plates ;) All in all, the sushi was decent, but the Ramen was actually my favorite. We will definitely be back for the experience and to try the rest of the noodle dishes.

I love dating this man <3

It Just Hit Me

The other day, I was walking Professor and I realized that he is 4 years old. He turned 4 in January, but it just hit me. If he was my human baby, I would have already taken him to the pediatrician for a check up and he would have gotten his 4 year old shots.

That's big. How could it be that he is no longer a little puppy?

Here is one of the first pictures I took of Professor:
He was the cutest puppy in the world. He fit right in my lap.

I get very sentimental when I think about how big Professor is, and how big my patients at the clinic are getting. Yes, I want your baby to meet their developmental milestones. But please. Can you slow down time just a little? All of my newborns that I started seeing when we opened are almost 2 years old. I'm going to be a puddle of goo when it comes to my own babies. I can see it already.

This was taken in 2012. Professor was about 12 weeks old.

On a different note, I love living in anticipation, especially when it is anticipation of something great. Right now, I am anticipating a lot of things...

-Going on a date with Yung this week to see Wicked
-Trying lots of wedding cake because that's where we are at with our planning (I'm getting married!!!)
-Working out twice as hard to rid the extra cake calories because that's how I am
-Road tripping to Austin for a sweet friend's bachelorette party
-Seeing my family in June and celebrating my dad and my brother
-Visiting with all of my Louisiana peeps that I haven't seen since Christmas
-Trying on my first Rent The Runway dress that I should be receiving in 5 weeks
-Spending as much time outside as possible because come August, the Texas heat will take over
-Using my new Norwex mop (Cleaning with only water!)
-Trying out my new essential oils (Yes, ya'll! I can't wait to see how they work!)
-My mom got me Rodan and Fields eye cream! Anticipating that my eye "wrinkles" will go away!
-Setting up video chats with long distance friends because we can (why don't we use this more often?!)

This was my brother and I last month. So fun!
Cheers to a new week!

Goodbye April!

April brought many rain storms to Texas, so I am happy that the first week of May has (mostly) been sunny and warm (Not counting the weather right now). Although I approve of rainy weather when I am working (I sadly have no windows in the clinic nor in my office), or when I feel like curling up on the couch to watch movies, it can also make me feel very blah and unproductive. I start make excuses like, "it's raining so I can't go to the gym. I think I'll have pizza instead." Not good! :)

I have, however, been trying to mix up my workouts now that we have checked off our half marathon from the list. Yung is training for a 100 mile bike race, so I am taking spin classes in hopes to one day be able to keep up with him around White Rock. I would also like to add swimming to my exercise regimen.

I live for the days when I take a road trips to see new babies, have puppy walking dates, and movie watching nights with Yung. That pretty much summed up my month. A lot of baby holding, baby talk (I've had several close friends have babies lately), a lot of rain, and more Netflix than usual.

May is looking up already. I just spent several days with my parents, and we will reunite with Aaron next month. So much to be thankful for. Enjoying this season today and always.

Gearing up for another great week.
xoxo, Connie
