Wicked Dates

Last week, Yung and I went on 2 dates. I don't really know what qualifies as a date when you are engaged. I think going to Cane's on a Friday night is a date, so as you can see, we are pretty low maintenance around here.

Nonetheless, there were two evenings this week where we went out and didn't stay home and read.

Date #1:
We went to Fair Park Music Hall and saw Wicked. Such a great musical with plenty of humor beautiful music. I was excited to see some familiar faces there too :) I was happy to see how many people were out to see the musical that night. All the shows were nearly sold out. With digital entertainment so popular these days, I am glad to know that there are still plenty of people that are interesting in supporting live performances. I can't wait until the 2017/2018 Dallas Summer Musicals lineup is released.

Before the show, we had dinner at Crushcraft Thai. I was just a little excited about the tofu fries. 

Date #2:
A revolving sushi restaurant has invaded North Texas. Kula in Plano, Texas. My brother and I used to play Pokémon Stadium on a Nintendo 64 at our grandparents' house in Taiwan. Within that game was a revolving sushi game that we loved. Naturally, it was imperative that we check out revolving sushi in real life. It just opened a couple weeks ago so we waited nearly an hour to be seated on a weeknight. Worth it!

There is a long conveyor belt that runs through the entire restaurant and there are individual plates of sushi sitting neatly in little covered domes. If you see something you like, you can take it from the conveyor belt. Each booth has a touch screen that shows a digital menu and keeps a plate count. When you are done with the plate, you feed it into a plate dispenser and the computer will automatically count that plate. If you want to order something that is not rotating on the conveyor belt, you can order it from the touch screen and it will fly out (literally!) on the upper level conveyor belt and it stops right in front of your table. It's like dining with The Jetsons.

Not only that, if you eat 15 plates, you get a prize that pops out of a separate tunnel that is connected to the touch screen menu. You can bet we ate 15+ plates ;) All in all, the sushi was decent, but the Ramen was actually my favorite. We will definitely be back for the experience and to try the rest of the noodle dishes.
